West Twin can be downright incredible at times, marginal at best on others, but usually it's a lake that you can count on for catching something. With a variety of species to choose from, perch, bluegill, crappie, pike, and walleye are the most abudant, with the rare musky and occasional junk fish being pulled out also. Walleye are the most sought after. Winter ice fishing is best at first ice for walleye, and strong throughout the rest of the winter. Most 'eyes are between 15-19". Perch can be of jumbo porportions. Tip ups usually outproduce jigging. For spring walleye fishing after ice out, jigging with leeches and minnows are the most productive. During the heat of the summer, pulling plugs in the dark is the key to success.
