De nada Jeff, I’m going to give my favorite IL lake(s) another chance to redeem themselves Saturday. I’m sure that my lousy results early this year are because of some weird  thing with the Loon’s, NOT because of my lack of skill šŸ¤£. Anyway, maybe I’ll see you there sometime. I’m fishing out of a beat-up black Lund with a Merc 50 on the back. Say Hi if you see me out there! Tight lines.

Thanks Dave!  Yeah, fishing in hurricanes is no fun!  šŸ˜‚.  Hope to run into you one of these times out.  Thanks for all that info, maybe we’ll give it another week or two.

Hey Jeff, for myself, haven’t been on Loon (or any) in last 10 days thanks to life things and crappy weather. Never did like fishing from a boat in a gale. Last time out, water temp was 60 or so everywhere I fished but it was still real slow. My Loon record so far is 4 (small) fish over 2 trips. All of those came on jerk baits fished REAL slow. Given the cold nights lately, wouldn’t think water temp is much better but sorry dont have a number. Good luck.

Nicely done gentlemen!!  That Musky, I’m sure, was a pleasant surprise!!  My son wants to fish for bass on Loon.  Any tips?  Is the water still too cold for the big girls to move up?  Thanks in advance!!  Tight lines!!

Hi Dave - Yeah that was me. Never did get the big motor started so we just used the electric trolling motor. Had no problems getting to East Loon and back. It was a bit slow yesterday, we also got a couple of ok bass and a pike. I think after the warmer weather this week things will really get going.

Beautiful fish Mr. G! Think we met at the ramp yesterday…must say your fish beats mine from yesterday :).  Was a really nice day though and both lakes in prime shape (high but not flooded stage).

Wasn't too sure if there were any muskies in the Loon lakes these days. Apparently, there are. Got this healthy looking young musky yesterday morning.

Good afternoon!  Planning on taking my son out on West Loon tomorrow morning.  Has anyone had luck with largies lately?  The last time we visited, we were able to catch and release about 6, nothing of great size but still fun.  Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks and tight lines!!

Phill Z; LOL. If you had seen me struggling to catch my rear-end this morning, youā€™d be hard pressed to give me the ā€œLoon Lake Masterā€ title! But youre right, both Loons are solid places to fish. I did get 5 this morning with this 17ā€, 2.5lb largie the biggest. Ā As far as ā€œhoursā€, there arenā€™t any. Come and go when you please. $20 launch fee honor box. BTW, water is VERY low. Had real trouble getting through the channel between East and West. Have fun and good luck!

McHenry Dave seems to be the consummate Loon Lake master. Iā€™m notĀ digging for info from anyone, just wondering what the hours are there? Iā€™ve never fished it & itā€™s time to put my 1968 StarCraft on it. Ā A few of you guys have proven there are some solid fish in that water.Ā

Cheers!
